A new health screening application was integrated into the registration process for Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Chamber Golf Outing.
According to a press release from the Central Michigan University Research Corporation (CMURC), Temp Protect™ was used during the registration for the annual Golf Outing in order to help comply with CDC guidelines. The Golf Outing occurred on Aug. 26 at the Mt. Pleasant Country Club.
“The Chamber is doing all we can to ensure businesses are protected during these unprecedented times,” President of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce Douglas Wallace said. “The development of applications like Temp Protect™ are critical to ensure businesses get back on track with the right protocols and procedures to keep our community safe.”
Temp Protect™ is a mobile application to be utilized to health screen individuals before admittance to any gathering where they may expose others. The capabilities include a series of questions in accordance with MIOSHA standards, and a thermal imaging camera that records temperatures. In the occurrence that someone does have COVID-19, contact tracing is available.
It has the capabilities to be integrated into events as well as the workplace.
“Our technology was originally created for the restaurant industry, but we’ve found that it has many applications,” Dave Dittenber, Founder of Temp Protect™, said. “Not only does it have an initial intake feature, but in the occurrence that someone does have COVID-19, there is the potential for contact tracing.”
Temp Protect™ does not replace the need for additional precautions such as masks, and social distancing.
“While the pandemic has had a devastating impact on some industries, it has also prompted an outpouring of creativity in others in the face of adversity,” President and CEO of CMURC Erin Strang said. “We are pleased to see the development of innovative solutions that inspire ingenuity.”
